Farm chatter

I've discussed house buying with my dad, and my big takeaway is that a large country property in maine will be waaay less expensive than our property in CT right now
I see this as a win
We’re looking for a new house too, some of the properties we’ve looked at are just beautiful. Coolest one I’ve found had a 6,000 sq ft barn.

What’d you have?
a homegrown sweet potato with butter, cinnamon and brown sugar, salad with ranch, and pillsbury biscuits.
I kinda thought everyone has had squirrel.
I have not had squirrel.
Unless you count having a squirrel.

What's a biweekly veggie box?
I can never remember the name of it. Misfits Market I think? all the M's.
basically it's a subscription service that sends a box to your house either weekly or every other week & you kinda get to pick what fruits and veg you get in the sense that they make up a list of what they have for the week and you "request" what youd prefer. theyll make substitutions that are kinda similar. like I got golden beets in place of carrots & collards in place of broccoli leaf.
their "thing" is that they make use of the fruit & veg that grocery stores dont want because the are too big, too small or too ugly. though some of it must just be overstock because theres often nothing wrong.

so today I got

Orange Bell Peppers
Collards
Curly Kale
Kent Mango
D'anjou Pears
Granny Smith Apples
Large Kanzi Apple
Orange Carrots, Loose
Small Cucumbers
Yellow Summer Squash
Zucchini
Green Cabbage

I already cooked and ate the collards, with the collards I got last week

I'm trying to eat more veggies because my SO doesnt like them so I have to actually put effort into it or I forget about them

Oh, we're not looking for a new house. I'm trying to learn about house buying so I can plan my whole life

I'd like to have minimum 10 acres in Maine. A barn would be amazing!!! I could turn part of it into a coop!
I was hoping to find one with some sort of shed already that I could turn into a coop of some sort. I was thinking a three or four bedroom house (one bedroom for me/so, one for kid 1, and one for kid 2 if I were to have kids) (I feel like living out in the middle of nowhere, being an only child would suck) (so I'd have at least two kids if i had kids)
I'd like to have majority pasture/field space, but having some undeveloped woods would also be great. That way I could save it from being knocked down if that ever came up.
