my hens have teeny tiny ones and I think they look weird

Makes sense. I’m not a fan of the super tiny combs either. I like fancy full combs. Joy only has a teeny comb right now, and I don’t think it will come back since she doesn’t look like she’ll be laying for a while if at all.

I like tiny combs actually..most of my girls have them.

this is snowflakes comb. modified single maybe? idk but its small and cute

this peafowl breeding season, I'm considering doing intentional pairings

black shouldered is recessive so... unless one of the 2 hens is a carrier, I won't get any this year, but I do want to intentionally breed the black shouldered peacock
only problem is that I only have 2 hens so... if I locked up a trio, I'd have 5 boys just outside being frustrated

So, I decided to go a week without collecting eggs, so I could see full nest boxes, and that was a bad idea because I found green egg outside the coop

So many mice eggs! I’m confused though because I’m seeing three different shades of blue/green in the nest boxes and I only have two EEs

You know how I said that the neighbors rooster has been silent for weeks? Well I just heard him (he’s crowing right now) and there’s no doubt that he’s alive!

Someone laid a funky egg. Looks like a bit of trouble with pigment here.

They’re not my favorite though. I like all tiny combs as long as it’s not a tiny single comb. It just looks wonky and just not right. Joy looks like a whole different bird!
