*Gait.I have a fun story for y’all.
So many years ago my mom, when she was probably twelve, was visiting Cumberland Mountain State Park with her brother and mom. They were hiking along the water when a Ranger there, holding a young duckling, approached them. The duckling’s foot was clearly messed up. The ranger explained that he figured a turtle had done something to her, or she was hatched that way. Well he said he didn’t think she would make it through the night, so he asked them if they would take her for him. Well my mom got back to their cabin and made a nice spot for the baby to sleep. Believe it or not, she made it through the night, and the next day they brought her home with them, giving her the name Cumberland Duck or CD. In a few short days she was getting a lot stronger. After a couple of months, she was walking. Not normally though, with the injured foot she walked on her “knee” instead. She lived in their bathroom for a while longer before they decided it was no life for her. They brought her to the nature center and dropped her off there in hopes they would care for her.....
Fast forward 6 months. My mom and her brother drove down to the Nature Center to check on CD assuming she would be very easy to spot thanks to her odd way of walking....
Well..
They were pretty wrong.
Upon arrival they realized that nearly every single duck at the center had picked up CD’s odd gate, as if it was some sort of trend! It was impossible to spot her amongst all these funny fowl, and my mom and uncle just went home stunned, and of course, laughing.![]()

Unless you're implying that each duck owned a gate.

Cute story.
