Lol, well Iāve been studying pedigrees since I was 9 and can recite stuff back a few decades. And I can talk peopleās ears off about pedigrees, genetics, canine evolution, dog behavior, etc until they beg me to stop lol (not really Iām pretty good at knowing when to change the subject when I see peopleās eyes glazeThis is "Dog Chatter" now I guess.

I did not know that!) Depends on if they are intact or not. Intact coats are very easy, until a female blows her coat before going into heat and than you have fur everywhere. Spay/neuter coats are thick and wooly, and require grooming up to every day depending on how bad it gets.
I assume this was a joke but since I know some people probably think that seriously -- there's a reason I didnt make breed generalizations and just told of my experience with specific dogsThis is "Dog Chatter" now I guess.

Oh dear, that poor cat!benjen is neutered but short haired (my pfp) so he pretty much never gets brushed
I didnt realize females blow coat before they go into heat. my metric for freya going into heat is - literally - when she starts humping the cat
well that's good news because we may be spaying freya but shes plenty old enough if your theory holds.Oh dear, that poor cat!Yeah Iāve had two intact girls and you can just pull chunks of fur out of them before they go in. And how bad the neuter coat is depends on the individual and I think how old they are when theyāre fixed. One of my girls was spayed at 5, pretty easy coat. My current girl was spayed at 2 and has an awful coat, way too soft and mats easy.

I would consider someone who has owned the same breed of dog for almost 30 years to be an expert in that breed. This is "Dog Chatter" now I guess.
