Farm chatter

hey @DobieLover I have to ask....what do you love about dobermans? Just everything? lol
I've realized that they're majestic and regal and pretty but I know almost nothing else about them.
They are easy to keep clean, smart as all get out, funny, loyal, athletic, gorgeous and make great security guards. I never lock the house up with a Doberman in it.
They were bred to protect people. That was the original purpose so they LOVE people and will do anything to protect "their" person. Some of them are cautious of strangers but will warm up if they learn to trust them.
I've had 6 over the last quarter century, all adopted.

That sounds wonderful! All of your dogs are gorgeous. Do you prefer the black and tan or the red and tan?

I've had all four colors (all shown above).
I prefer the dominant colors (red/rust and black/rust) vs the dilutes (fawn/rust and blue/rust). The dilutes are prone to CDA (color dilution alopecia) and skin issues.

Oh wow, I didn't even notice the dilutes! I thought that they were the dominant colors but in different lighting  I totally see it now, though!

Do you prefer them visually as well, or just because of the medical reasons?
