Oh my gosh, that's awful! Is it like cancers in that breeders can screen for it before breeding their dogs, or do they just develop it more easily?I like all the colors. I prefer them to not have extra health issues. They already have one major issue that kills 40% of them. The Doberman suffers dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) more than ALL other breeds combined.
Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry about that.That is a staggering rate. Out of the five I've lost, three died from DCM. Two had sudden death. One I didn't even know had it until she literally dropped dead at my feet. She's the little red one with cropped ears. Bridget.
