Farm chatter

I don't think it will hurt. Most people say not to, because they believe it disrupts the hatching position. Never had an issue.

I usually do little check ups to monitor their progress. Doing this will also identify who has died.
Okay, thanks! Maybe I'll do a super quick candle and put the eggs back in exactly the same position.

yall, I'm hating this year.
First time having to deal with prolapses, (2), and twice my chickens have had bumblefoot. Snow has bumblefoot right now. I sprayed it with theracyn but i dont think that will help. Ideas? I'll also post pics on my own flock thread.
The steps I take when dealing with bumble foot:

Soak her feet.

Peel the bumble scab thing off.

Squeeze put any pus.

Soak in diluted iodine. should be a light tea color. Soak for ten minutes.

If you don't have iodine skip the last step.

Pack full with antibiotic ointment like neosporin.

Wrap.

Sorry about the prolapses. Those are not fun. I do not EVER want to deal with one of those again.
