Farm innovations 4250 incubator

I marked the edges of the water troughs with a black permanent marker so I could see where the water is supposed to go. I suggest that you wait to add water until after you place the eggs. Any comment?

Did you buy the tray liner? That's what I did, too as far as marking the outline of the trays.
I wove aquarium tubing under the screen and out a vent and attached it to a large basting syringe to make it easier to add water without opening the incubator.

Ok so it's a farm innovations 4250. And after the water was dumped out and it was left alone for a few hours the humidity level is now 28% on the digital. I did pick up a humidity gauge from petco and it is registering 25% should I add a little water and get it in the 35% range before adding eggs? Opinions?
That makes sense since it's an FI thread!

(If I had a face plant emoji, I'd use it now. lol I don't know what thread I am on half the time.

25% isn't bad I try to run dry as long as it stays above 25%. You could add a wet sponge to the incubator. I never fill trays during the first 17 days. I use a wet sponge, (or two if needed) above my screen at egg level for humidity the first 17 days if it's too low running completely dry. One wet sponge usually holds me right around 30-35%

Then at lockdown I fill the water wells and the add my sponges to get the higher humidity that I like for hatching.

What is a tray liner? Your method of adding water sounds like something I could do. Do you have any pics? Do you use the AET?

You can order a plastic liner that is molded just like the resivoir. It fits over it so you can take it out to disinfect it after use without crud getting into the styrofoam. I think it cost $7.00. What's an AET?

Here's a link but it's more than I paid I think:

Ok so adding the eggs bumped the digital humidity reader up to 56% but the reader I bought from petco says 40% so I'm just going to leave it alone and see what happens.
