Cool to see the 'herd' helping out with mid wife duties!
Your cornish X are looking good! They are a curious bunch, aren't they? Ours are always nosing around anything we do in the coop.
Wow! I have missed a lot over the past week! So many great photos - love them!!

Here's some pics of my new younger group out free-ranging recently...

My EE pullet "Wildflower"

"Adele" looking pretty...

"Tango" - my daughter's naked neck turken with a bowtie
Beautiful shots of your flock!! My DH would love Tango!
I like Lionhead rabbits! They are adorable!

Plus they'd fit right in with your silkies!
Adorable! Good thing I'm allergic to rabbits or I'd be adding another pen to the yard! LOL

This is for you 3acres. ;) Doesn't she look impressed?

She'd go perfect with your drag costume.
Looks like she's the Great, great, great grand daughter of Groucho Marx's dog! Cute!

I love this thread...pretty pictures and a ton of laughs! What more could ya want at the end of the day?

My chores got rained out today. (Yay!!)

Actually, I WAS doing chores ...okay, okay, I was really just watching the brand new baby turkeys I brought home this morning get settled into their new digs when I looked up and saw this:

Then, I jumped up like a mad woman and started racing around to get the horses, hogs, goats, deer, chickens, ducks, turkeys, cats, and dogs fed before I got drenched. I managed that, and tried to squeeze in some garden harvesting, but I got drenched anyway. The storm hit and literally flooded all my pastures, yard, garden...everything. What a turd floater! It was awesome!!
We got 2" of rain in under an hour. Love it.

For the longest time I couldn't see the ground anywhere! (I had to steal this shot from a video, so it's not
so clear.)

I had no idea there was rain in the forecast. I guess a proper farmer would check on these things.

Note to self: check the weather forecast everyday with your morning coffee.

I live on Lake Corpus Christi.  Did you get a lot of rain too?

Not to far at all. We lived in CC for two years before coming back up to NB.

We got a fair amount. Think I read on FB about 2.5 inches and that was this afternoon. I know my horses are now filthy, and all my chickens feeders had to be dumped. But I won't complain. We need rain, because we need some good hay crops.

Stunning!

I'm glad I'm not the only one sportin' crazy whatever-I-slept-In clothes when I'm out doing morning chores. All of the sudden I'm not so ashamed of my flip flops and Scooby Doo pj's.

Thanks! I can't wait for the drakes to get their feathers they are suppose to have!

No need to be ashamed...lol. All the more reason to always get the craziest pj's at the store when needing to buy some....

. My feet got so black last year, that I had a hard time ever getting them clean...lol. I use some kind of porous stone thing now and it works great. I'm not sure it is suppose to be used on human skin....I think it's for cleaning bathtubs???....lol.

Beautiful sunflower photos! Yeah, I've heard people cuss them up here....hard to get rid of??? I like them! Real neat to look at. My neighbors have really tall ones by their garden and there is a huge field of them south of me planted on purpose....very neat to see those...they aren't very tall it seems.
