I really hope they are not breeding those roosters with those hens.. You won't want to hatch those eggs.. Naked chickens coming your way (frazzles). Not really naked, but with feathers so brittle they are naked in patches.. like a continuous molt. They are often weak and unthrifty as well. I would definitely ask if they bred those two roosters with those two hens.

Otherwise you'll get naked chickens. So, I'm hoping she/he did just that with these eggs. For $15 for 16+ eggs, I'm willing to take the risk.

I found this on my sage plant yesterday and was a little concerned that he didn't seem to be eating any of it. Weird statement, I know. LOL, but last year I had tons of Black Swallowtail caterpillars all over my dill plants and they literally devoured the plants right before my eyes. It was really cool to watch. So this year I had twice as much dill growing for the little buggers, but none have shown up yet. This caterpillar is a bit different from those and it's the only one I've seen this year. I'm okay with sacrificing a few plants to the butterfly population, so that's why I was hoping to see him eating. But he wasn't, and I was a little worried.


So I went out a few hours later to check on him and found out why he wasn't eating!

In another week we will see her for the first time. She is from the zoo, did I mention that? Good to know people! I am good friends with the curator of the zoo.

. I bet you are excited to see her!!! I talked to a zookeeper for a very short while last Sunday. She was putting up the flamigo's for the night. I didn't get into I do that sort of thing every night with my ducks...lol. ....I just played like I was a city slicker as she was saying why she was putting them up and stuff....I just kept going that's cool and that's real neat and stuff like that....

You know, I had every intention of going by and getting them the very next day! I swear!! I just got so busy that I haven't been near the feed store during business hours. If they're still there when I DO get by there, I'll certainly bring them home...but otherwise, I'll just take it as a sign I'm full up on birds for now.
