3acres you are a warm hearted soul, to go to the trouble of rearing these babies yourself.
Aoxa is correct the best orphan milk is goats milk. We have reared several " Joey " kangaroos and lambs on it. A lot of the milk replacement products on the market contain tallow which puts a lining on their stomach and has the unfortunate result of creating absorption problems. Good luck with them and keep us updated.

Thanks everybody!

I am not seeing a link Toast n Jelly???

I started feeding them kitten milk replacer. Now I'm feeding them a mixture of the KMR, heavy whipping cream and esbilac. They like this mixture WAY better than plain KMR, but not sure what is right??? I wish I had goats milk to try.

It'll be a huge learning experience.

I keep them in here, nice and toasty in the living room! I find it interesting how they seem to open and close that hole of fur at the top according to how warm they are. After a feeding, they close it for a while, then as time goes and their heat builds back up, it starts opening. They've done it after every feeding, but I'm not sure if it is on purpose...makes sense though.

Here's a few pics of them. I have a kitten bottle kit, but the syringe works better right now. I am trying to get them to nurse the bottle every feeding though. I also wrap them in a wash cloth now, with just their head sticking out when I feed them. I took pics of that last night, but there was no sd card in....lol.

I put them all in the basket, then back in the nest after feeding so I know who has been fed...all in front of a heater, but they stay real warm all together.

3acres, I am a retired rehab volunteer for the wild bunnies. You may know to pee pee them. They need to urinate or they will go septic. Use a cotton swab or a cotton ball . Mother would lick them and stimulate them to urinate. At least two times a day or more. They should take in 15 cc's a day minimum. Weigh them daily to make sure they are not losing ground. Also, if you put a nursing nipple on the end of the syringe you will be able to see how much they are taking in . And you can press on the plunger so the nipple will give milk.

So sorry...here's the formula

RABBIT MILK FORMULA

1 can of sweetened condensed milk or fresh goat's milk (don't use cow's milk)
3 tablespoons heavy cream
3 tablespoons Karo corn syrup
1 egg yolk

My former horse, Trooper, grazing in front of the cattle pastures.

Photo taken towards our horse barn.

Trooper splashing in the pond. :)

Trooper in the hay field before it was cut (and not by his teeth).

The nursery got overgrown again..

At the end of fall, taken from the deck towards barn and pastures..

My current youngest horse, Benz, exploring in spring. :)

Fancychooklady - Thank you! Sounds like you have done quite a few good hearted deeds! If I can keep these little tikes alive, I think it will be a great feeling of accomplishment. I enjoy this stuff!

mg15 - thank you very much for the info! I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me!

Toast n Jelly - thank you! I'm writing all this stuff down and appreciate all the help!

Entering day 4. I have no reason to be concerned about any of them at the moment.....I know things can probably change in a hurry!. Fingers crossed! I've already hit one goal of hitting the 4th day. I was at a feed store and asked a known raiser of rabbits what to do that first day while I was getting supplies. She has a lot of rabbits. She very rudely said no use in trying...they'll be dead by day 3 no matter what you do.

You prove her wrong! I'm rooting for you!!

If a few make it out of this, you are incredibly lucky from everything I've read on the subject. I bet they will be very tame too... :)

You may need to feed more or a richer formula like the one that I gave you. I'm hopefully wrong, but I think the tummies need to be fuller.

that you succeed!!
