My God...the scenery over there is gorgeous! You have a little piece of heaven. I'm totally jealous!

Were you not feeling good the day you had your picture taken? You look a bit green.

Molly had a bath today. Couldn't get any nice "after" shots because by the time she was dry, she just didn't feel like pictures.

My girls Spitfire and Aria

The little turd child, Star of Halftime, taking a nap.

Thoroughbred mare Tika saying "CHEESE"! lol

Why swim in the pond when you have a small feed bucket.

Junior, a New Hampshire Red. this guy belongs to one of our students. She couldn't keep him at home because he wasn't getting along with the other rooster. Of course the girl didn't have the heart to give him away, so we took Junior in. He's a very charming guy and is veeeery happy with his flock of hens!

Those are some from today. It's been a BEAUTIFUL day!!! I;ve actually had my windows open all day and I was outside in a T-shirt. That's a minor miracle!! Maybe spring is finally here??

I thought I looked really hot in that pic?!?. I almost didn't post it for fear I might intimidate everyone with the hotness and then you think I was sick?!? ...

Thanks! I just have 83 acres. Not very many for as many cows as I would like to build up to, but is WAY more than my poor self should own. I should only have 3 acres at the very most. I can never think of good avatar names, so put that as my one here to remind myself to be thankful. I love my little piece of ground here!!! I wish I was a little more secluded from neighbors, but oh well.

Has any fair lady kissed your handsome green nose lately?

.... that's more like it ..."handsome green nose" ....

. Well, I still look like that....lol. Maybe worst...haven't slept in over a week, gotta pretty good beard going with pine shavings stuck all over it, don't know what day it is, got tennis elbow from cleaning chick pens, the duck mush with brewers yeast isn't half bad on the fly....

Looks like a great day, Sanna! I hope spring is there for good for ya! I just seen one of those Sena...Senap...shaggy geese in one of my poultry guide books I'm reading! Crazy how they are like that! Very nice horses and rooster pics! Nice just got a bath silkie face there...lol. Do they like baths? I would think not??? Do they need baths to be heathly with fur, feathers, hair like that?

JUST 83 acres??? lol I have none. The farm I live on has 40 something, I think. Most of it is woods. Still, nowhere as nice as yours.

Sebastopol geese are the shaggy ones. I think that one was Glarence with a G. lol We have a horse named Clarence. I have no idea how the goose ended up being named Glarence and who was here first.

The goose is a bit of a nasty patty. Always tries to bite you when you go in their pen. I always pick him up and hold him for awhile, then put him down and he runs away like a big sissy!

Such a tough guy.

Apparently some Silkies like baths. I've seen pictures of them just floating in the tub/sink. Mine aren't that keen on having a bath, but I hardly ever bathe them. If you started them young and kept up with it, I could see them enjoying a little bath every once in awhile. Molly is going to be a show bird, that's the only reason I gave her a bath....just to find out that she plucked all her feathers off her belly when she was broody.
th.gif
So she's not going to be a show bird. At least until the feathers grow back. Good thing I still have my amazingly handsome splash cockerel Ace (in my avatar)!
Other than shows, I don't bathe my Silkies. Unless they have so much poop stuck to their butts that it becomes a problem. Most of the time, I just cut the clumps off. I don't think they really need baths.

(little green smiley:) Why haven't you slept in over a week? The fun and excitement is in hatching then comes the reality of caring for all those little guys....
