Thank you :)

I tried skinning twice.. Really took a long time. Especially around the wings. It was easy on the breasts and back, but it still seemed to take just as long, and I like the skin. Maybe I'm not doing it right.

I'm thinking about making this. I've heard good things. It's cheap too.

Looks really interesting. OK a drill, bungee, wooden frame, plumbing pipe and caps. What are the black fingers made from Aoxa? And how would you attach them? Are there plans for purchase or a friend makes them. More info please, if it's ok and you can.

Precious pup and congratulations!!!

They are actual plucking fingers. You can get them at the feed store or online.

I haven't found plans. You can google: homemade drill plucker and come up with lots and lots of results.

That's interesting! Thanks for posting! I have not seen a version like that before! That might be something I can try to build. I've already ate my Cornish cross..lol...so am trying to decide if I need to do a fall run or not to get me to next spring or early summer...I'm guessing I need to.

On the skinning thing..I cut just a little and pull alot and may be doing it wrong. I am just learning the in's and out's of skinning. I'm just starting to get into making my own clothing out of hides. Kinda taking the homesteading and self-sustaining living as far as I can and it's just fun learning all this stuff! I imagine everything I make will look like I sent it through the lawn mower and only be behind the house chore worthy...lol...but am excited to learn and try.

Sorry! My attempt to make you laugh.

My first thought was making a comment about "death row". I'm glad I didn't now.

Thanks! It was fun. I used to show horses - so this was much, much easier than all that.

I laughed and apologize for not mentioning that!...

. I imagine some people might see that and think I keep them in there everyday as their permanant pen...and sometimes I don't know what to do when it comes to mentioning butchering on this board. As of now I like to keep their crops cleaned out when I butcher,so I seperate before I feed that morning...but am still working that stuff out. Probably a bad pic to post on my part, but I think they look pretty in there. My goaties are in goatie jail at the moment...lol...(in the trailer and not to be butchered)...
