The Black (Chestnut) colt is a Quarter Horse Appaloosa cross. His name is Gunsmoke. The other Chestnut colt is a Quarter Horse. His name is Bullet. Even though Gunsmoke looks like a black horse, because he has that dark brown on his legs he's a Chestnut instead of a black.

When he sheds in the summer does he get lighter? He's a very pretty boy!

Funny story, Caroline is Finch's "biological" mom; they both wore the same shirt, and in the same room in our house!!!

Thank you! Last year and the summer he was born he got lighter than he was in the winter or spring. This is the darkest he's ever been. It ought to be interesting what happens.

Hm! That's cool. That typically only happens in grays!
Do you think he might just be a really dark bay? That's what he looks more like to me

Weeeellllll...... actually, only Caroline is still alive. Spidergirl died of egg yolk peritonitis, and Blossom and Finch were culled during the Great Markes Crisis.... If they ever did argue over that bandana, it was over who wasn't going to wear it!

Although, I must say, Blossom did seem to enjoy wearing it *rubs chin in thought*

Now let me see... how many chickens wore that red bandana.... there was Peep, and Goldi, and Blossom, and Spidey, and Fowler, and Reese Pieces, and... I think a couple of the feisy whites, but I don't remember which ones

So that makes, we'll say, 7. It feels like there were more though...

Finch and Caroline were the only two chickens to wear the blue shirt. Kinda makes it more special, huh
