Just saw and interesting segment on Eco Company about Lundberg Family Farms in Northern California (near Chico). They do an annual egg-aid where they send groups out into their fields before they mow their cover crops in Spring, to collect the mallard and other eggs, so they do not get mowed. A local gentleman hatches and releases the ducks (mallards, wood, and some turkeys apparently). Seriously cool! They've been doing this for 25 years http://eco-company.tv/tvshow/episode-303-living-small This is the episode. No video on the web unfortnately.
