Just saw and interesting segment on Eco Company about Lundberg Family Farms in Northern California (near Chico). They do an annual egg-aid where they send groups out into their fields before they mow their cover crops in Spring, to collect the mallard and other eggs, so they do not get mowed. A local gentleman hatches and releases the ducks (mallards, wood, and some turkeys apparently). Seriously cool! They've been doing this for 25 years This is the episode. No video on the web unfortnately.
