Rode Sea today! She was awesome! No problems or anything, didn't even tie her to saddle her up,just fine,I don't know what the lady was talking about, probably called she can't ride or handled a horse, which I could tell......

Love Sea!! :)

She was just fine with the dogs and a storm was coming in when ridding her.Super windy out there. She is awesome! :)

cool beans. Just watch for later on. Once she feels more comfortable with you she might start testing to see what she can get away with... fortunately she not an Arabian so that phase will be short. Arabs test from 6 months to a year before hey give up. I am glad you got a good riding horse :)

It's no problem, both of my parents trained horses for many years,so they know all about it. My mom has a full Arabians before too.

I'm learning stuff from them.

That's awesome! I have been teaching the homeschool group, and trading horsemanship lessons to youth in exchange for yard work and babysitting. I fond that people take riding lessons but still don't know much about a horse. I believe in knowing the animal before you are allowed on their back, then balance, then confidence. I only have Arabians so they have to have understanding in order to control my old man. He is an angel, is great with little kids, but if they were to ride him, he just has eyes for mama. He follows me instead of listens to them lol. I could never sell that horse. He would literally die of a broken heart. I had to leave him a lot when I was in the service. He would just constantly hang his head and not eat or drink much. Poor thing.

all these horses reminds me of my neighbors uhhh horse? thingy, its supposed to be a horse. or pony, as he calls it. Looks like a pony if it werent smaller than a boer goat.

That's great! Yeah, just knowing how to ride isn't everything, all horses are different. My parents have been around almost every breed of horse, that was all my mom did before I was born was work with horses and all,she did alot, then the year I was born she got in to goats, but still had horses, but when her horse Velvet passed,it was very sad,it was on my mom's birthday...that horse meant alot to mom,she has had her since she was 9 years old,I was little when it happened, and I still remember it..... :( Then mom had to find a new home for her "Cat Mare" the Appaloosa cause she went crazy when Velvet passed and when they buired her Cat Mare wouldn't leave Velvet, she kept trying to get her up :'( .....it was very sad.My mom actually hasn't had her OWN horse since then.......

I wish I was good with horses as my parents, but I'm learning to be has good has them,I've been riding on my own since I was 7. But I don't know has much has my parents, but I'm learning.

Your horses sound very sweet.

Quote: That is sad. Give your mom a hug for me!

Horses have incredible hearts... when a person understands them and has passion for them there is a special bond. If you listen carefully and learn their ways you can speak to a horse and they to you.

You have ig good girl. You are learning and have incredible mentors in your life. It takes tie to learn horses, and no matter how long you've been at it, you are always going to find a challenge in horses some time or another.

Yes my babies are sweet. I just have young kids and its hard to be able to do much riding of my own. My husband deploys a lot :/ So everyone else gets to ride them. *sighs*
