Having been born to a 3rd generation poultry farmer, breeder, and hatcheryman, I have spent my entire life around chickens... Just like my father and his father before him, who's father started this whole thing. Being the only girl, and baby, after 10 boy cousins... I was dubbed the chicken princess. And worked hard for my place in the family's farm, business, and legacy.
I've joined this amazing community of poultry enthusiasts because while I thought I knew it all about these dinosaur-cousins - having butchered them since I was 6 (for 13 years!), doing chores of gathering eggs, sexing chicks, vaccinating, culling, beak trimming, identifying breeds, and learning the process of raising literally hundreds of thousands of them over the years - turns out I really don't know as much as I thought.
So I'm here to learn. About what breeds you all seek, what hatcheries you like and why, what frustrations you have and how we, as suppliers, might be able to help.
My family's hatchery is owned, operated, and managed by myself and two of my cousins and we are dedicated to transparency in our field, to providing only the most healthy chicks, outstanding service, and... Honesty. I look forward to learning everything I can from you all and am very open to any questions you have for us in the mail-order hatchery business.
Chickens are friggin awesome - and that's why we're all in this crazy chicken keeping stuff together!
