Farming quail profitable?

I initially thought Id just run a small quail operation for my own personal use in my farm but now Im asking myself, "How can I make this a source of regular income and how much is even normal for non 'quail factory' type farms?" If you have any insight on selling chicks, eggs, and adults, or any combination of those, Id appreciate it. I just dont really know what that looks like/how people move in that market

I can't keep birds or eggs around, they sell so fast. I'm a small hobby breeder, though. I'm also pretty much the only person in my area who has quail. My hobby is completely paying for itself and making a small profit now.

I have 23 permanent birds and about 30 grow teens right now, but when I have chicks and grow outs I might have up to 100.

I have 56 celadon eggs in the incubator now due to hatch on the 7th.

See, you're about where Id start out and heading up to about 100 sounds doable to me. What kind of profit are you bringing in right now? Im going to do the approximate math after you answer. Also, how do you even find buyers besides Craigslist and Facebook?

This year so far I've spent $911.53 (All expenses I can think of including licenses, pens, fly bait, hatching eggs, etc), and brought in $1148. Net gain $236.47. This doesn't count the eggs and birds that I've eaten.

I don't keep my chicks or teens for long. I've had small hatches be completely sold before they're three weeks old. My 30 teens are what's left out of a hatch of 53. The reason I still have the teens is I have an order for 2 roos and 8 hens and I want to be certain I have enough hens.

It will depend a lot on where you are and how much competition you have. I live in SuperExpensiveLand, so I can charge a lot for my eggs and birds. I also don't have any competition.
