Yes i will!! Sadly i have to wait about six months before i can purchase it!! All i know is that i am going to buy that one!!So excited for you! Let us know when you put it to use!!!!!!!
WOW!! Those pigs are sooo adorable!!!Hey chicky, I've read the entire thread and have a few questions.
1. How long do you leave your eggs in the nests before a broody decides to sit?
2. What is the temperatures where you live?
3. Why would you need an incubator with all those broodies.
4. Who purchases your chicks and broilers?
5. You should try to find some barrels for your feed so the chickens can't get into it. That's what I use for chickens, pigs, goats, rabbits, and ducks feed. My husband gets them for free from his work.
6. I love your set up and wish I could help you with the hawk problem. Your chickens look so healthy and happy. Do you ever have mite issues? If so what do you use to treat them?
Best of luck, you can never post too much. I love your story and thank you for sharing.
My EE chick.
Baby pot bellied pigs.
Cool!! i like big chickens too!! My mother said i can buy some chicks soon so then i will have handraised chicks!! Then theywill be nice and tame!!Temperature question was curiosity, I always have a half dozen broody hens but live in Wisconsin were for mAny months our temperatures are well below freezing. I agree hand raised chicks are much calmer than when they run wild with mama. The mite question was for research, I have tons of sparrows here and believe that's were my mite situation stems from and I was curious what you treat with. I think that covers everything. Can't wait to see a new post from you with pictures of some babies...... I am a chicken collector, I have many breeds but prefer large breed chickens. My favorite chickens are astrolorps and anything's white lol just not leg horns their combs don't hold up well in Wisconsin.
Yeah, roosters are a real problem!! Luckily here i just sell them for cheap and then they go to good homes!!!I have an abundance of brown and red but only two white, an EE and a white rock. I like barred and colorful hens too but haven't got lucky enough to hatch any out. My last hatch of were all production red X EE mix. I've been having a heck of a time trying to get rid of some roosters, I don't want to eat them as they are all so sweet but I gotta do what I gotta do. Good luck
