The smallest of the three ducks (4 weeks old - welsh harlequins) will sometimes breathe much faster than the other two (and occasionally open his mouth - which I took to be panting). After putting water in front of it drinks and the panting stops but the breathing is still a little accelerated.
From reading the forum it looks like heat, but I wasn’t sure because I made them a little run so they can leave the heat of the brooder whenever they want, it’s the smallest, and I’ve never seen the other two breathing fast or panting at all!
