Fat Ducks.

Hi I have two mallards or rouens. When they are walking their gizzard and booty sag down. When they are at a angle its fine. Is this normal? Am I feeding them too much?

Depending upon strain both genders of Rouens can be very heavy bodied - especially show strains, Almost all mallard derived hens tend to appear 'plump' once they mature.

Even my Runner females look bottom heavy when they are laying .

If they are a production bred strain then they might look larger for meat purposes, but if they are standard bred then they should be in shape.
*production bred-for meat and eggs
*standard bred-for showing, and more care for colors and body type and profile(just so you know what they mean...cuz I didn't until a few days ago).
Also exhibition Rouens(ones that are bred through different strains to get good looking animals for show...I think) are crazy large.
