Father of the bride and I need suggestions... UPDATE 2-3-10

I think John denver is a fantastic pick, but if the bruce springsteen song has a lot of meaning for you two then....but you also said you used to sing the first one to her? so that one would have special meaning as well....

If you decide against a slow dance and decide to kick it up a notch, here's a good one:

Father and Daughter - Paul Simon

An excerpt that brings tears every time-

"I'm gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you'll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
That loved his daughter more than I love you"

Thanks chickychicky....we listened to that one and I like it ....but the John Denver song means so much to us, I think we are going to use it. Wish us luck....cause I can't dance. I guess I've got 4-1/2 months to learn.

Don't worry, you'll do great. You can always resort to the "stand in one place and sway" technique. ;-)

When my dad walked me down the aisle for my wedding day (which was only a few years ago), I outright bawled, even during the rehearsal. There, in that moment, I realized how much he's given to me and how much I was loved. It is one of my most loving memories that I will have for the rest of my life. I hope it will be for you and your daughter as well.

You know chickychicky, as a parent, sometimes you can only hope that your kids will someday get it. Realize how much they mean to us and how much we love them....it's got to be a blessing for your dad to know that you do realize it....and even better, you appreciate it and hold it dear. Your parents did a good job.

Thanks for the well wishes.

My father and I danced to "Tiny Bubbles" by Don Ho. My father used to sing me that all the time when I was little and boy he couldn't sing if his life depended on it. It was different, but it had special meaning to us.
