A few months ago, I ordered six day old chickens from mypetchicken.com, including 2 salmon faverolles. They arrived on June 21st, and they are 3 weeks old now, and just starting to grow in their adult wing feathers. On of my birds has her salmon-y pinkish brownish wing feathers grown in, along with her characteristic beard and feet feathers. The other on however, is the exact same age and she has foot feathers but no beard and her wing feathers are pure white! Did they give me a white faverolle or is she an entirely different breed?!? : ( please help!
    here are some pics:

First, I think it would be nice to have a different color Favorelle, but she is yet to go through a few more molts so don't put in pen what her color is just yet.

Second, some bearded chicks lose their beard fluff but will get an actual beard when they feather out. Either their first feathers or their teenage feathers.

Basically, I don't think you have anything to worry about right now. They grow quickly and go through lots of changes so just be patient.

I have 2 Favorelle's that I got from my pet chicken back in April and while u can tell they r both Favorelle's, they look different. One has the black beard and the other one doesn't.

This is Bedelia. She is lighter and has no beard, tho I kow u can't really see in this pic.

This is Amelia. She is darker and has the black beard...and is THE FRIENDLIEST chickie I have! Love her!

    Hope that helps some!
