I purchased a bird at a farm auction and well it was my first chicken other than generic yellow chicks you win at the fair. upon trying to figure out what this was I came on BYC and under the breed page it looked like a faverolle hen. upon getting two silkies he/she was very posessive of food and kept pecking the silkies when they tried to eat. before the silkies every so often he/she would make a very pathetic crow in the morning. I had read about some hens making such a lame crowing noise trying to be a roo. he/she would also fly over the 3 ft chainlink to the other part of my yard and dig for bugs. other than looking, I have not done any other tests ( the pushing the belly test, remember first chicken). because of the bullying, I have decided to find him/her and new home which has brought up the next concern. from the craigslist ad, I was informed that it looks a lot like a americauna roo that was owned by someone. I have yet to find a picture online that would remotely support this, but I figured I would see what you all had to say on the issue.
This is Chicky Boo
