I wanna go!

I can attest to that. My Ideal Poultry Favs are generally Fav looking but put them up against the breeder birds posted here and they make Cinderella's ugly step sisters look pretty OK.

True, there can be some differences, but I have a little hatchery hen - she's quite a personality! I hate to admit this, but I love going into the coop just at dark and mess with her

She does not like to be touched when she's roosting..... so I go in there and "rough her up" a bit

I rub her on the breast a little and she starts pecking - I mean really striking out - but she misses most of the time because she can't quite see well enough to get me. I wear gloves, so it doesn't hurt. And I'll grab her beak and hold it for a second or just rub the side of her face.... she's a lot of fun to play with. I probably shouldn't do it

but I don't hurt her, just giving her unwanted attention!

I like to see their reactions when I am trying to collect eggs. One girl doesn't make a sound but if I put my hand under her to get the eggs she locks her wings and legs down as tight as she can to keep them. Her sister, however, is another story. You would think I was trying to eat her

! She screaches and sqwaks and makes all kind of racket if I try to get her eggs. Amazing how their personalities differ.

Yeah, they're really something.... I usually try to get the eggs while nobody's in the coop, but it doesn't always work that way. So, I have another Fav pullet that just started laying, and when she's in the box I reach under her - she starts scolding me a little and she'll gently peck at my hand :) Funny girls!

Turns BOTH of my Favs are taking turns being broody. The one I had on Monday is not the one hanging in the nest yesterday, but she was again today.

Guess I'll stop hoping for a 12 eggs from 12 girls day any time soon.

Wow, I'm totally the opposite - I almost always wish the big shows were longer. I never seem to have enough time to meet everyone I want to meet, talk to the judges, check out the sale and vendor areas, visit my friends' entries, and then feed and water the birds. I miss someone every time, no matter what plans I make. Oh, well, if you guys go for lunch instead, have fun!
