Faverolles Thread

Hi,
I'm getting a favorelle chick this Friday along with some other picks, iv fallen in love with favorelles, I will post some pics. of it as soon as I get the little girl. :) ;) :p

has any ever had a rooster develop double spurs? I trimmed my rooster's spurs a few months ago and he is going to a new home soon so I brought him in to trim them again before leaving and I notice on one leg he has a second spur forming just below the main one?

I have never seen one with double spurs. Can you get a pic?

I'm new to faverolles and I have 7 little roos. They are still young. I only want to keep 2. My question is what should I be looking for. The colors are just all over the place. And I'm just not sure. Thanks

How old are they? What are your plans for your flock? Unless they have obvious glaring faults- extra toes/nails, side sprigs, split wing -you may want to wait until they are at least 6 months old to make your first cuts. Cockerels are messy colorwise for a long time. But type is more important.

They are squatting when I reach for them, one girl has a bigger comb recently and waddle and it's RED, dark red. I also noticed that their vents bulge a bit more than before. I try to get a once over a few times a week for monitoring health (vent, feathers, feet etc )
