Faverolles Thread

I tried to take a pic of my little black faverolle last night, but my computer at home would not let me upload it and I am unable to do it from work.

So, sorry, for now, I have no picture to show

cool! another member to the fav list!

i have 7 bantam fav eggs hiding under 2 different broodies! one should be hatching this weekend or sometime early next week if the hen has been doing her stuff right! the other 6 probably will be about 2 weeks to go. here's hoping for a few sweet pullets to put in with my Hat Trick boy i hatched from Henry's eggs!

I'm still waiting on my eggs from Melissa to hatch (a little over a week to go -- yay!). I'm so thankful that I moved the hen into the big dog crate before putting those eggs under her, though. There are three other broody hens in the goat shelter, and a skunk, or skunks, have gotten some of the eggs that they are setting on. I've borrowed a live trap and am going to try to catch the stinkers as they've been stealing eggs from the hens in the chicken tractors, too (I'll drown the skunks, not going to release them elsewhere).

Sure am anxious to see what I get from the Fav eggs!

Now... to get girls of their caliber... the breeder is out of girls, so it's time for me to consider those tons of girls available here

Not too many on the west coast, but I have to put it here just in case.

My 3 girls are looking much better, but the black splashed one is still black tipped.

Hi everyone,
I am new here- looking for some standard Salmon Favs of show quality for our home flock... we will be raising them for multi- purpose, and they will be our only breed. I have had both favs and many other show birds in the past, but cannot find anyone within driving distance with quality birds (Located in Massachusetts) willing to travel as far as New Jersey... please let me know if you have a good source.
Thanks!

We are also looking for some standard Faverolles. Preferably Salmon. Anyone within a couple hours drive of Albany, NY or willing to ship eggs please PM me. My son saw pics and did some research and decided he wanted to have these for "his" flock. Thanks!

Annie

EWWWW! Poor Kathleen! We have been cursed with a Peppy before... awful. The big problem with a live trap is that they will spray like crazy when you approach. I just shot them from a distance... do you own a gun? Even a good strong air pellet rifle would probably work.
