Just wanted to pop in to share my excitement. My first chicks from "Sammy" (my avatar) are hatching as I type.

I am above the moon with joy!

I have waited soooo long for this day...I finally have babies from my favorite little rooster. Yay for little Sammies!

EWWWW! Poor Kathleen! We have been cursed with a Peppy before... awful. The big problem with a live trap is that they will spray like crazy when you approach. I just shot them from a distance... do you own a gun? Even a good strong air pellet rifle would probably work.

if you're going to take them out with a pellet rifle make sure to get them between the eyes so they don't react and spray! nasty when that happens. my dad was always lucky enough to get them the first time!

if you can get as close as possible without them getting startled that is even better!

Sorry to hear about your skunk troubles... had to deal w/ a sick fox years ago w/ a 22 rifle up close- scary stuff! Gun did the job though. Any of the folks checking out this thread know of any Standard Salmon Fav breeders worth checking out?
