Here is the "dirty" pullet. She has a lot of smudge in her beard as well as tail and wing feathers. Do you think I should breed from her? I'm enjoying this thread very much, too!

Whoa, Nelly, didn't mean to get you on your soapbox! Just kidding. I guess the only reason I would ask whether to breed from her or not is what that last judge told me. He said in a quite disgusted tone that he had seen "good Favs" at other shows and that none of the ones at this one were up to snuff. I'm just a newbie trying to learn what to look for in the breed. I really thought my little girls were nice before the show. I didn't expect them to win the whole show, but I expected to at least be encouraged. Now I'm trying to get an idea of what to breed for.

Does any one have a Buff Faverolle project going? I am thinking i may start one. I have Both Buff cochin bantams and Salmon Fav. Bantams So i would be able to start the project. But would like to know how many genertions it would take to get the colour?

I'm not sure what Dick used to start the bantam buff project. Leisha has some of the buffs now.

If you want LF buffs I'd start with a buff orp. Same leg color. My son really wants to start that project, but I told him we have enough going on already.
