Faverolles Thread

Hey Guys,
So I have had to make some difficult decision's over the past few days. I think that now is just not the right time in my life to have chickens. So I would like to see if anyone wants to take the blacks that I bought from Leisha. You would send me paypal for a Quad of blacks and shipping for the birds as I have already payed Leisha for that then you can deal with Leisha to figure out paying for extra pullets if you like. Please be very serious about breeding as this is a color that is extremely rare and needs work! I will still try and play my role as Vice President to the best of my ability so I should still be around! I am doing this for the well being of the birds and for no other reason.

I have also heard that a faverolles male did very well at the Lebanon IN show this weekend. I believe he belonged to one of the Patterson's. Maybe Leisha or someone else knows more about this.

Man oh man!! I wish I had room!! maybe I could make room........

Spoke with several people after and during the show this weekend. Me and Julie (juliechick) pulled Terry Britt off and had him critique our birds and as we are both very visual people this helped ALOT!! It was an awesome learning experience!

That is great. Think about making room you will have one of three groups of black bantams. They are ABA recognized so they can be shown. What did Terry have to say? Hope you did well at the show.

Yes. Did good. I post a couple of pages back
My AR State Fair Results.
Cock - 1st of 2
Hen - 1st (only one)
Cockerel - 1st of 2
Pullets - 1st, 2nd, & 3rd of 5 and a RV/RB and BV/BB

Terry basically just critiqued the birds for us told us what the good/bad points were, and compared some of them to each other, ie. wing colors. It definitely helped me and julie, I think, as she said she's a visual person and I seem to learn better that way too!! The good thing is he said they were ALL typey so hopefully relieved some insecurities!

My orps did OK, they both placed 3rd (cock and hen) behind Terrry's, then Roy Autrey's (who I got mine from and his are some of Terry'Superior farms), so to be expected.

I'm really racking my brain to try to get those blacks in down here!!

All that I have definitely want on a roost.

Mine love to roost up off the floor about 3 feet... I made my roosts out of some branches we had from clearing our property.
