Faverolles Thread

Clarissa is beautiful. Now that is what Faverolles should look like. I can not wait to build up to that.

Does anyone have any fav chicks they might be willing to part with out in Nor Cal??? They are my favorite chicks hands down, but can't get them anytime soon from the hatcheries and all my other chicks will be too old by then... I would love a couple and be willing to pick up and pay (obviously

Pete, you're adopting me, right? I promise to keep my room clean and take care of my own coop and everything!

Anyway, just hatched my first clutch of my own - 5/14. They all have darker spots on their wings - hope that doesn't mean all boys. Toe issues on some, but almost all of them have homes already - just local people for their backyard - not for breeding. God, that was stressful! And here I am collecting eggs again! (Sigh of resignation) Some pics:

Haha! Yes, resign yourself as you will be a habitual egg collector for quite some time!

As always, Fav chicks are just too cute! Yours are bantams aren't they? I am fortunate too in that a lot of my local people enjoy having my culls for their layer flocks.

Glad to hear everyone is having great hatches. Keep up the good work. There might be that special one to win at the Faverolles National- you never know.

Another color question to put out there. Meet Prudence, a 20 week old Faverolles pullet. What color is she?

I'm trying to decide what to do with her. I like her type and she has really nice toes but, obviously, she is NOT Salmon. But what color is this - red? mahogany? the color of a pullet that should be moved to the layer flock and not used for breeding purposes? Any comments would be appreciated.
