Faverolles Thread

Glad to hear everyone is having great hatches. Just got home from SE Ohio Poultry show that had just about 1,000 birds there. Had a wonderful time and see some old friends. Only took 3 pullets with me and won Champion Featherleg. There was 101 featherlegs all together. It was a nice win and a great points day with special meets from the ABA and APA.

Congratulations!!!

Congrats leisha!! I emailed you.
I had a buff orp win champ English and reserve large fowl last weekend at show. It was a small show. Just about 300. Now berate the bad part. I had half the birds in the featherleg class and still couldn't even pull out a reserve featherleg. ONCE AGAIN ....... Dang Cochins!!!

It was Pat Malone judging. Yeah I know but I thought with so few in the class maybe we had a better chance. Something else good was annslee's little white call duck won best of variety and he thought she was the best duck at the show but had just a touch too much black on her bill so he couldn't make her best call duck/waterfowl. And I won novice large fowl. So I can't complain.

Ok. Sorry back to the favs!!

I have a question about my Faverolles. I have one pair, they are beautiful...but I just can't for the life of me get any eggs to grow!
The rooster is doing his job, I have witnessed it and the hen's back shows the wear. I have broke multiple eggs open and they all have that pretty little bullseye.
I incubate and I have yet to get a single one even started. They are both 1 year old, they get layer feed, scratch grain, and occasional treats from the kitchen.
Why are they not making babies????
