Thanks! Oh goodness, I know. I had a big RIR hen hide out in a patch of holly bush last year and hatch almost 30 eggs all on her own. She had them in a huge heap and surprisingly almost all of them hatched! And ofcourse, with such good hatch rates, more then 20 of them were boys.

Luckily they made for good eating. I've noticed that I tend to get more boys in the early spring then when I hatch late in the summer and fall.
 
I recieved some eggs from Jeanine and of the 15 shipped 12 are showing development!!
I just hope my next batch (of Bantam SF) is as good!

You can see how much lighter the beards are on the girls that have salmon or blue salmon mamas, and all the boys from this group are the white with black:
