Sometimes I wish I hadn't dropped breeding bantams. ): They are so pretty! I have some LF like that, the ones that had been mentioned earlier in the thread, and they are turning out really nice. Incase somebody didn't see the replies Cloverleaf was so nice to give you can breed these recessive whites to Salmon birds.

Oh! I guess I never considered that. Silly me. Should I test breed for it? The babies from my white recessive rooster that ARE Salmon, do they carry a recessive white gene? If not, I wouldn't mind keeping the white boys, as long as I bred them to Salmon, non-white carrying hens.

If you wanted Salmons, you would just breed them to a salmon bird? Would the colors be right after being white?

Yep, the white is recessive, so the bird would be visually salmon, but carry the gene for white.

Yay for fluffy cuteness!!!!

:) OR. You could breed them together and have white birds, though perfectly white birds may take a couple of generations.

I hope you find a home for the roo Mame

When do LF Faverolles start to lay? I found my first egg this morning and I'm trying to figure out who layed it. It is off white in color, the picture makes it look darker than it really is.

It's not the space, it's the extra hormones I'm worried about. Unfortunately, there's very little info about cornish around. There's not even a thread here on BYC, not that I've seen. Anyone have any good roo experiences to help me out? I know they are all different, but the one fav roo I have is so wonderful, I sometimes think I got a fluke. Could his son be the same?

Mary, It really depends on the roo. My only experience with the fav's are the little ones I got from you but they seem to be a very gentle breed so it could work? I have ALOT of roos and some could do fine with 50 roos and some should be the only roo. They do seem to calm down after they get through that darn teenage stage. If you do get him, there could be some spats as to who will be top dog but if they get that worked out and are happy, it could work???? If you really like him, you could give it a try and see how it goes?

Lisa, I am SO tempted to do that. I have always liked the whites ever since I knew they existed - heck, I like all the colors! But that little face!

So glad you're enjoying them. I was sitting in the run the other day watching chicken tv and their mom hopped up on my lap looking for yet more treats - so adorable!

He is gorgeous Mary! It is a hard decision!!! How many girls do you have? If you have pretty many girls, it might be better.
Yes, I am enjoying the little footballs! LOL

They are getting so chubby! LOL Yes, we have to have the snuggle time every night and it has to be a boy and a girl together then I have to snuggle with the next 2!!! They are characters! I also have to keep their cage that I originally housed them in when they were smaller in the coop and they sleep on top of it. I tried to take it out once and they got really upset!

I have three girls besides my Armand, and a fav mix hen that looks like a almost white fav but for the toes and the smattering of "freckles" here and there across her. But her father was a bantam fav. She's got a face, too, that's why I took one I can't even show. Take a look:

You should see her when she's had a bath! But, she doesn't have the fav personality - she hates me. Not that that stops me from kissing her!

('Scuse the dirty coop - that was in the winter, so...)

Mame, are white Faverolles APA accepted? Can I show mine? My white roo has the best type of any of my birds, I would love to show him if I could. Cute girl. Only my boy white chicks were worth keeping this hatch, sadly. I really love the little girl (looks like a spitting image of yours) but she has 4 toes on one foot, and it won't do to keep her.

I totally understand the dirty coop. Mine is the opposite time of the year though. Spring time coop-cleaning gets scary with broody geese! My geese are 30+ lbs and it's not fun to be chased by a mad daddy goose. ): And they always brood in the middle of the coop, so you can't do anything!

Yep, whites are accepted in both sizes.
