ok I have a few questions and seem like the perfect group to answer them! I received a hatchery SF from a friend. She is about 12 weeks or so. What is a typical age for them to lay?
She also looks to walk more on the front three toes of each foot like a tippy-toe. Is this normal or does she have bad feet?
She is very sweet but still peeps like a baby. And she is getting bigger but still thinks that my old brain damaged silkie is her momma and tries to climb under her to hide. Silly bird!

I have not seen any of these girls with a "fan tail", but seems like the new pen is agreeing with them. Some pics of the start of some nice fan tails??? (I'll defer to the Fantail Expert Peter on this one). Of course none of these are my "choice" pullets so far.

Pics of some of the cockerels I have pulled out as maybes, so far have not culled for color. These guys are mostly 6-8 months old so definitely not filled out. EXCUSE the dirty cages, they haven't been used since spring and haven't been clean as I just put these guys in them. I swear it's on the agenda for this weekend!!

I also have a question for coloring for the boys. I have seen some where the white coloring on their back is different. Which is the preferred coloring? I am still trying to learn about these guys!
