Looks like you have some great stuff to work with there jeanine. I love that black hens beard and muffs. You have some nice blues there to. Might have to see if I can get some eggs if I move into a chicken friendly location.
yal remember me talking about my friend that is a professor at U of A Poultry? I said he was working to improve LF salmon faverolles by mass hatching/strict culling, etc.????? Well he used mostly Patterson's birds and then some other "not as good" quality that he hatched this spring. I got a pair of those. Both pure Patterson line. He always does a hatching display for our state fair with several breeds all hatching and then brooding together through the fair. Usually about 200 chicks or so. Well guess what one of the kinds he set for the display were? Yep LF salmon faverolles and guess who got to go through them and have as many as she wanted. Yep me. I pulled everyone of those little suckers out and keep all based on feet. If I had not went ahead and sorted this way I would have ended up with probably 40 chicks. As it was I ended up with the following and all have awesome or almost awesome feet!! Here's what I came home with. And yes I swore I wouldn't brood any chicks through the winter....... but how coulkd I pass this up!!!???
