What colors will a blue have in her wings? I will try to get some pics, you will have to excuse them though they need a bath. Their feet feathers are a little dirty.

A salmon will have some black in her wing primaries, a splash won't have any blue or black in her wings and her undercolor will be white.

Okay from what you said about the coloring in the primary wings one is a Salmon. What would it be if it looks just like her but does not have the black in the primary feathers? One of the others does not have the black in the primaries.

Thanks for the help Jeanine

These are just a few pics I already had. The girl right up in the front is not one of the two I am talking about. I am sure she is not show quality. She has color on her chest and all and darker color in her wings. I figure she either has bad coloring or she is a splash. I just wanted to go ahead and post what I had until I could get some better ones. It might be this afternoon before I can post them. Please ignore the one in the front though because, she really looks nothing like the other two. I know they aren't good pics I will get better ones later. Excuse the brooder they are standing on it needs cleaned. LOL!!!

I'm pretty sure that one in front is a splash salmon cockerel, which would be the first one I have seen from my eggs.

If the other girl has no black or blue in her primaries she's a splash salmon too.

Yup, that is NOT a pullet but a splash salmon cockerel.

Thanks for posting those pics again Cindy.

Michelle - he will develop more color, he's only 5 months, he's got some maturing to do. The cool thing about what you've got is that if you paired up the splash girl with the salmon boy, and vice versa, you would have 100% blue salmon offspring. I really think you should keep them, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

OK, ALL of my girls spent half the year naked-faced, but now that molt is coming to a close, they are finally getting their "accessories" back!!

The beards are still a little scraggly, but they're getting there!!

Boy NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can she be a boy?????????? She acts just like the girls and isn't all territorial like a boy. OMGosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess I have some serious thinking to do. If I keep them though it would be for my enjoyment and selling pretty babies. Do you think I will be able to find many people interested in their babies. Ugggh!!!!! if it is a boy I am gonna need another coop if I keep them. I really thought she was a girl. I didn't think there was anyway she was a boy. I just thought she was either a splash or a girl with bad coloring. So if the picture you posted is a splash girl what does a blue girl look like does anyone have a pic??? I took a lot of pics today of them. I will try to post them this afternoon.

Thanks Guys

PS: I will let ya'll know if our little girl Hope starts rooing. So let me ask you if Hope is a boy how come the Salmons come is so much bigger???

A blue salmon girl looks just like the others, but has blue in her primaries where the salmon has black.

The splash salmon boy is younger, and therefor the underling to the salmon boy, he has more developing to do, but as long as the salmon boy is around and they are all together, he probably won't develop his comb or start crowing until later. Two months is HUGE when you are talking about such young animals, that makes for a BIG difference in the development of the two boys. eta: But look at the difference between the splash boys comb and the girls...it's way bigger than theirs....
