Faverolles Thread

the person is not new on Ebay....been doing it for some time and I had to ask the Orpington folks to see if any of the pictures belong to them.

He did not have much time on the auction so I will keep an eye on his auctions. Had him saved. I also plastered the news on BYC, Faverolle Club, Backyard Eggs, etc. as well as my FB thread about it. It is buyers beware!

THANK YOU folks! The seller list the new auction with their own pictures! You guys ROCK!

Hope the buyer will be OK about getting the hatching eggs. It's sad to see disappointments with folks wanting Faverolles to look like ours!

I sure missed my lovely hen, she was from Catalupa Farms. A very sweet natured, even for a poor layer. A real pet she was!

Attention Faverolles club members...the Spring Newsletter is out via email. If you did not get your newsletter, please contact me ASAP. I had a few email addresses kick it back as undeliverable.
Thanks!!

Yeah I saw that add on Ebay too! Yeah they really should have asked you first!

OK folks, I need your help...someone was using my pullet photo somewhere either on here or on my website. Nice they did but they didn't ask for permission.

This is the picture of my hen.\

I also posted on FB Faverolle Club to make sure to let the buyers know what the seller is selling are not their birds.

Based on the second picture it looks like a girl! The feathers appear to be coopper/salmon! I beleive its a girl!

If only i was so lucky!
I've got an updated picture I'm hoping you all can help with sexing. I've got the 6 Bantam Favs that were hatched, 4 are very obviously girls, 1 of the others is a boy (I think) with darker wing feathers than this. But this one is a little confusing. Where it would normally be black wing feathers coming in, it's gray. Yet the shoulder feathers (2nd pic) are light tan at the tips and in the sheath they look darker. Does anyone have Blue Salmons that they remember how they colored in? Or could this be just a darker girl? The shoulder feathers are throwing me some since they're not coming in black but they're darker than the other girls. The lady I got them from does have a Blue Salmon boy that she hatched from her birds so either is possible. I'm hoping someone here knows.

Oh thank you! I SOOO hope you're right. The lady I got the eggs from thinks it's a girl also, she thought a Blue Salmon girl. Yes, the shoulder feathers are copper colored at the ends that are coming in. This one and the one I'm certain is a Salmon male are both big, the biggest ones. That's why I sort of wondered if it was a male, just a Blue Salmon. I'll sure be thrilled if I get 5 girls and 1 boy out of this batch. My birds are pets so I'd already decided they were all staying even if they were all boys :)

The one on the left is in the above picture (the one I wasn't sure of the sex). Just to be safe-the one one the right actually *is male, correct? These are the 2 dark ones, the others are all beige and butterscotch. They're 2 wks old.

Edit: For the record both chicks in the above photo and the wing pics in the previous picture turned out to be boys. The one on the left is a Blue Salmon (which I wanted really bad!) and the one on the right is a Salmon-which is cool, too.

I would say the one on the left is a girl and the one on the right is a boy.

That's what I'd have thought also. But to make it even more confusing *both of these 2 darkest ones have shoulder feathers coming in copper. They're also the 2 biggest.
So shoulder feathers might not be the greatest indicator either haha. Would someone tell me how to get these babies to read the BOOK on sexing Faverolles?

The good news is it's looking like I either have 6/6 girls or 5/6 girls. Either is awesome. Which gods do I thank for that?
