Feed stores, pet stores, veterinarians. It's not "for chickens" ...it's the dog stuff.

im looking for cuckoo and salmon. Im sure that the if I bred my colors to the salmon I would probably get some other color besides salmon.I probaly will have to get seramas for the exqeucher color im trying to get in them to. I just saw faverolles as looking more like a d'uccles than any other commoner breeds.all the breeds that look like d'uccles are eithier lacking beards or feathered feet.

I already am getting and have all the d'uccle colors available in the US and I have deffinetly tried to get them from other places.I wanted to make my own unique colors and i saw that facorelles dont have many colors bur their colors are impossible or hard to find in other birds.

Hi, I love Faverolles and when i first became interested both Dick and Leisha helped me learn what colors Faverolles came in..So far i have seen examples of available Faverolle coloration in D'uccle except salmon hen, mahogany male and female....but again the whole body style is completely different. I am not trying to discourage You since most folks do it, i am just wondering if there isn't an easier way to get there.

How about D'anvers, they don't have the feathered legs but they do have the beards, are more closely shaped and there is a breeder out there that has already created a huge inventory of various colors. I believe his farm is BoggyBottomfarm or bantams or......regardless, good luck

Funny, almost none of the products I use on/for my birds are actually made for chickens. This is the dog and cat stuff, in the spray bottle. It's not cheap, but it lasts me a long time. Here's the link to PetMeds.com. You may have to shop around for a better price. I just pour a little into a small cup, dip a q-tip in it, and then run it behind the head, under the wings, and around the vent. It must touch their skin to be effective. You can also spray it on their feet for scaly leg mites.

I'm also breeding for very full feathered feet the d'anvers have they have rosecombs they carry their tails at a different angle and its already hard enough to get d'uccles with good tail angle.They dont have vulture/falcon hocks just like the favorell.I dont think they have a bull neck.The closest to a d'ucvle is the booted but the wattles are a huge isue and have different body.I just think that since faverolles are somewhat short and pudgy.They are bigger but I think threw a couple of generations they could be brought back to a more d'uccle body and look.
What im breeding for is new really unrelated blood, huge beards,really feathered out feet, short and fat, new unique coloring.I'm still looking into the advantages and disadvanteges to breeding faverolles to d'uccles and so far I have more pros than
cons.I see everyones point so i will probably look for a better candadite even if it tajes a while.

Good news: It seems that the coughing of the Favs is over with the intro of a heat lamp to help regulate their temp and more importantly their humidity. Phew.
How did everyone's Favs doing in the North east storm? I am recalling the cute little A-frame Henry had his in and figuring it was completely buried. We used to make snow forts in the banks of snow when I was a kid, just dig a tunnel in at the base and then hollow our the banking so you had a house inside. Some were tall enough to stand in and warm. I figure that might be what the chickens are experiencing

Mine are all in the big coop. The a frame is long gone haha. We only got about 1 ft here maybe not even and it started to melt a bit today. 25 degrees felt like a heat wave!

Your right i forgot about the rosecomb on the D'Anvers, Well, ya never know til ya try with the Faverolles....and after a few generations see how they match the SOP.
