Faverolles Thread

Your right i forgot about the rosecomb on the D'Anvers, Well, ya never know til ya try with the Faverolles....and after a few generations see how they match the SOP.
wgat breed do faverolles have similar body to im sure someone has used something similarish to breed with their d'uccles. I know the toes can be bred out by the second generation, and that and the body are what i am most consirned with differences.

im looking for cuckoo and salmon. Im sure that the if I bred my colors to the salmon I would probably get some other color besides salmon.I probaly will have to get seramas for the exqeucher color im trying to get in them to. I just saw faverolles as looking more like a d'uccles than any other commoner breeds.all the breeds that look like d'uccles are eithier lacking beards or feathered feet.
What color d'Uccle are you planning to use in this breeding? Black?

I guess there is some merit to using faverolles and d'Uccles since that is the route we went with the lavender bantam faverolles project that has now been scraped.

mille fleur, black, splash, lavender, porcelain, golden neck and mottled.I dont have all my colors yet but im on waiting lists
And you want to try to create salmon?

Black is probably the best color to get you there. I suggest you try out this site

Lavender could also work, since that gene will only show with 2 copies. Otherwise you have black. Splash would make blue salmons eventually.

You may also want to invest in something like Genetics of Chicken Colours to get a better understanding of color genetics. Feather colors and patterns are complex, but fun! The book is full of pictures too.
