Faverolles Thread

Faverolles always has an s on the end plural or singular I thought. Like Marans another french breed. Maybe I am wrong.

One Salmon Faverolle

Two Salmon Faverolles

One Marans

Two Marans

This is what I have seen around the internet.

Hope this is correct.

Yeah I got that. Just thought its a bit like saying birds fanciers club v bird fanciers club :). That its more than one is a given without having to use the plural s

I really like the design though. Looks really smart and I'd be ordering one if I was in America :)

I'm sure I read somewhere that the breed is called Faverolles and that the S is there when talking about one or a dozen. It's not like a Brahma where you're adding an s for plural... one Brahma, two Brahmas. With Faverolles it's one Faverolles, two Faverolles, etc.

Can someone more learned correct me if I'm wrong, because that's how I interpreted what I had read.

I have always used the S on the end, no matter the number. I did some research about it awhile back when I first fell in love with breed, and found a site with an article about the spelling similar to Wikipedia's. The S is always present.

It refers to a community in France and is a place, therefore, Faverolles is correct for either singular or plural. There is no Faverolle.
