I have three cockerels at 26 weeks and I thought I would post pictures. I am still learning about Favorelles and if anyone has anything to say about them I would appreciate it. I am not sure that I am keeping any of them or what my plans are yet. I know they are still young but any thoughts?

I like all three! How are the toes? If I had to pick, I would go with the ones with the best type first - see that nice upside-down trapezoid shape in #3? - then with color - the white in the beard of #2 is less desirable, although it can be used for producing better females.

That being said, males are hard. They're not really set in their adult plumage until they are a year. That's why you go with type first - the stuff that you look at if they were a solid color. Toes, skin color, comb, eye color, the trapezoid shape, width in chest, weight, etc.

I would really like to introduce a white/cream egg producing purebred to my flock. I really like the look of the favorelles. I live in Tucson, AZ, and I haven't seen any non-hatchery chicks or adults locally. I'd rather not do shipped eggs. Does anyone have any breeder quality chicks or young stock available? I prefer to ship before May because of how hot it is on the ground here.

I've seen 6 sold for $20 but it depends where you buy them from, and if it's an auction or bin. I bought mine (dozen) fir 35 plus 15 shipping. She sent me a total of 15 eggs.
