I think I'm going to need to build me a second incubator!

I have 12/14 LF eggs form Melissa due to hatch Monday and 7/18 bantam eggs from Rose Isgrig due on Wednesday. I also just set 11 Fav Bantam eggs that I set on Friday. I will be setting another hatch or two for later in March then I am done except for my eggs. I only plan to keep about 15 chicks so I need to pick out the best of the best.

Those Blue Faverolles are beautiful but do they all have their fifth toes? I had gotten hatching eggs from them and it was awful! Did you ever gotten any "throwbacks"? Or is it still under experimental stages?

At least you got a good start on those Salmons, they are goreous as they go! Too bad that the Pontious family got out of it, sold most of their Faverolles. They have been hard to reach nowadays.

Thank you everyone for the compliments on my Blue and Black LF Faverolles. I have spent lots of time, money and effort getting them to this point and it is so wonderful to hear all of your ooohhssss and ahhhhss! Makes it all worth while for me. I hate to disappoint anyone, but I am not releasing their eggs for sale yet, as I have organized a group of people to help get them APA approved. I love the Faverolle breed as it is my FAVORITE and felt that these birds and this breed deserve some recognition.

We have lots of work to do, and lots of shows to attend to accomplish this task. Your enthusiasm will make it much easier!!!
The pictures I took of them does not do them justice, so please check my website for updated pictures of my breeders, chick pics and I will announce it there (and here too now) when I start to release some eggs.

Ewesheep,

I drove to Illinois to get my Salmon and Blue Salmon Faverolles breeders from the Pontious, as they were selling their breeders, not their culls. YES, my Blue and Black Faverolles have full beards, feathered shanks and FIVE TOES on each foot!

Sounds good I want Blue Salmon to become recognized as well! How are you going about getting them recognized I am thinking about showing in March and I may take my Blue Salmons along with the Salmons as long as its worth my while. To bad about the eggs let me know when you do have some I guess it saves me from myself

Keep up the good work! Faverolles need more widespread exposure and it is great to see various people on this forum who have an interest in working with this breed, preserving it, improving it and developing new lines.

I didn't realize that the Blue Salmon Faverolle was not in the APA!!!!

Guess I need to approach that one too. How many people in this group have Blue Salmon Faverolles? LF and or Bantam?

Also, if there are bantam lovers out there, I think I know someone who has Blue and Black bantam Faverolles; is anyone interested. If so I'll do some digging and see if they are selling eggs or chicks or birds.

I do not see the Pontious website anymore or being active with their website. Someone told me they went out of business....a breeder of Orps did tell me that. When I went on to click on their website, I can not access to it.

I had a Fav bantam pullet from the eggs I hatched. She was so lovely! Due to downsizing I let her go with a friend of mine who lost her last summer due to predator problems.

along with my prized Orps too! now she had the cages and pens safe guarded, she has not had any problems since then.

How would they need to be APA approved? I do not show birds nor wished to do so but I would not mind breeding them if I got an extra pen for them....other breed may need to move over LOL OR make it three projects going OLOL!
