Thanks for the pics Keesmom...very nice looking chicks. I am glad too see they are fairly black....I still cant make a call though. My "girls" (crossing fingers) seem darker overall especially in the legs. I'll have a go at posting some pics now that I found my camera card adaptor...These are at a day old. What do you think? Could they be black fav's? I agree they look pretty similar to other black chicks. And without the proper 5th toe on each foot, can I even call them fav's if they are?

On the top pic, it looks like there's a 5th toe on the right foot, you can see it up under the chick, it looks webbed, but it's there. Look like pretty puffy cheeks to me too...
My stupid buff orpington decided to break one of the fav eggs under her and rolled two others out of the nest
I took all of her eggs and gave them to the Cochin hen- hopefully the two that were out of the nest were not too cold. The cochin now has 11 eggs but she is sitting tight... hopefully she can handle that many
Well, here it is, day 21...keeping an eye out for my first time with a nest full of eggs which should hopefully be hatching any minute now. Martha seems to be spelling Bertha while she is up each day to do her business, but Bertha seems a bit antsy today. Plus, Biff and the two roosters in the other run all growled at me today simultaneously when I walked out to check on them. They stopped when I called them by name, and were perfect gentlemen when I went into the run, so maybe they were complaining about the cat's proximity. The cat actually gives them a fairly wide berth, since the first day when Charlie the white crested polish chased him, what a sight, lol.
Unfortunately, it is now, beginning to rain..hopefully it will brighten up when the chicks are out so I can get some good pictures.
