Faverolles Thread

Yep you got them from Dick Boulanger a very well regarded faverolles breeder. I will wait to see what he says about them he should come on eventually either tonight or tomorrow. I do like that white cockerel if you need to get rid of a cockerel get rid of the buff and blue one the one that is mixed colors. That way you can separate them and get pure whites and pure BBS favs. I am pretty sure from looking at the combs that you have 3 cockerels and 3 pullets. These aren't salmon so there could have been some sexing mistakes when you bought them. I really do like them though

From what I can see from the photos these may be breeding rejects very beautiful birds but not breeders I could be wrong though. If one black hen has no 5th toe and the white pullet has a fused 5th toes (I can see it in the picture) They are very handsome birds but they shouldn't have offspring sold as anything but mixed faverolles. If your wanting them for pets keep the one rooster with the best personality. The white rooster is the one on the right in the photo.

we got them as Pets for my Kids, easy for them to take care, and Eggs for me :)

if we do Breed them, it will be for us to keep, the white rooster, is the fight starter, he even picks on the Pullets.
my son loves the multi color rooster..

we'll see what happens, if I do deside to giveaway any, I'll post on this site first.

thanks

If you're not in a hurry to get rid of any, wait until the girls are laying, and see what the boys' personalities are like after they start breeding (namely toward people). That buff and blue one is cool looking!

Great for pets faverolles can't be beat! They are also good winter layers in my experiance. You could get more hens and that might reduce fighting amoung your birds. I also really like the blue buff birds.

You got those birds from AL Carrington, I bring him all the birds I don't want to keep. The whites came from large blues. If you end up breeding them together I would be interested to see how the chicks come out. You could get some large blacks or blues. The buff colored one is a bantam. I have a black male on a buff female, another experiment.

Al will be getting more of my birds soon.

Thanks Dick I really like the Blue, black, and splash color now! Looks like at least a few of the eggs are developing and I have some more saved hope I get at least one or two blues and a few nice black pullets for the lavender project.
