According to the SOP, they should be 8 lbs.

Yes, our standard calls for eight pounds. Personally I like them bigger. On one visit to Engand I stayed with Sue Bruton and her husband. I had a chance to weigh two of her birds. Her cockerel, under a year old weighed 8 pounds, her cock bird weighed 11 pounds. Faverolles are suppose to be a meat bird so I prefer more weight.

I definitely agree about the size on LF. How strict are they on bantams I am sure that the black cock I got from Leisha is well over 30 ha ha.

hehe, i think you may have Zues confused. he's the roo i got from a local-Chickn! Mosey and Apollo are the 2 boys i got from you Henry
lol.png

Mosey is the my one boy who gets to go outside with my full flock of layers, culls and pullets still growing. since he hasn't been able to crow properly since he was shipped he gets to travel to the coop in the morning and back to the house for the night! i only do that as a precaution in case he was someday able to belt out a real crow too early in the morning!
Apollo is the wonderful blue salmon boy who thinks my white shoes look like they are treats when i forget i'm still wearing them! maybe he just associates them with the treats i give him and his girls

Se my problem is, I hate a bird that looks undernurished. If they want to eat, I feed them. He is not overweight, he is just a solid bird. Or as my husband would say, just a one meal bird. LOL

Ha ha Sorry don't really name anyone around here so I do get them confused. Sounds like they are having a good old time Mosey was able to crow but it was rather raspy while he was here I wonder whats up with him. Yep all my boys get carried in and the giant black rooster really doesn't like coming in so he fights me every night ha ha. Glad the roosters are doing so well.

Ya I don't think he his fat I actually like a bigger bird as well and I hate the skinny Mediterranean look! If I could have it my way all of the bantam cocks would be his size. Don't worry my coop has an all you can eat buffet too

He is actually very in shape flogging dogs and running around leading his ladies out to the garden. Don't worry they only get to go out when I am around.
