It's in Dutch. I wish it were in German...then I could read it. As it is, I can only sort of tell what it's saying. But if I understood it correctly, the salmon favorelles is the most popular breed in the Netherlands?

What color was your last hatch?

In my last hatch I had 5 white bantams, 4 buff/black bantams and 3 large blue Faverolles from Texas.
Dick

Sadly, I was unable to hatch out any of the eggs I set from my LF Splash and Black hens... so I could really use a roo... just mentioning it... in case you happen to end up with an extra BBS roo... Amy

go to http://babelfish.yahoo.com/ - see where it says Translate a web page type in http://www.faverolles.eu/default.html - select for your from and to languages Dutch to English (or German) and hit the translate button

I think I will try the mahogany line this fall. He got me going in the right direction on the buffs, now I'll try this. Why not I already have him.

Take a picture of him.

i found that putting the vitamins and minerals and giving them cold watermelon was a good way to keep my birds from crashing. i haven't lost anyone yet but i keep having issues with shell-less eggs with just the favs. i think in the heat they had been avoiding their regular feed and oyster shell. so i started giving them some yogurt early in the morning before it got too hot for the stuff.

a couple of my girls have started to show signs that they are molting. could the hot weather be triggering that a couple of months early? they should be at 18 mo at the end of October so it just seems strange to find all the feathers on the ground and lots of pin feathers showing on the girls through the patches!

i've even been putting a few frozen gallon jugs of water in the coop to help keep things a little cooler. the hens seem to drink the condensation off the bottles at they warm up some. the problem is you have to switch them out during the day and the space in the freezer is somewhat limited

Unfortunately, what I get from Babelfish makes about as much sense as what I understand from my limited knowledge of Dutch. It works great for words or occasional phrases, but it doesn't do grammar very well at all.
