Faverolles Thread

I agree I was more talking about them all having curled of fused toes. I was happy with 50% but there was a problems when I got 10% or less on my last two hatched probably the heat though. They got cooked because the incubator was set the same and the temperature in the room were fluctuating.

I guess you posted while I was writing mine! No curled toes on this batch, but they fourth and fifth are fused, wouldnt that be a genetic issue nstead of incubation issue?

Oh I thought you meant there toes were really messed up. Yep that's genetic I have some chicks with it and some witghout.

This is so not faverolles topic, but....

I think you did great. I had many, many batches of shipped eggs where I have none hatch. I'm lucky if I get 50% out of shipped eggs. I even occasionally have bad hatches from my own eggs. Then there are ones like the last when I went away, wasn't around to monitor anything, they hatched early and I managed to get 14 out of 17. I can say I have better results hatching late winter/spring.

Thanks so much! This was my 5 or 6 hatch since mid-May so I havent seen the difference in season for sure but I am done now for a while! Thanks again

Faverolle experts you have helped out before in choosing which of Gabby's roos were better for showing. Now can you help us again, what color Faverolles do we have? I am pretty sure the one cockeral is a blue but what is the other boy? The eggs were shipped, were to be salmon and or blue. The pictures were about a month ago and not the best. The whitish boy now has a bigger tan spot of feathers on his back but still mostly white with a little light tan. Thanks Katie

Looks like you have one blue salmon and one splash salmon. The light colored male is the splash salmon. Those faverolles are blue and splash salmon though not blue faverolles. Good luck with them they will be very pretty.
