Bravo Henry! Have a great trip, and enjoy school! I wish I'd 'gone away' to college instead of doing it piecemeal from home!

Good luck w/everything Henry. Sounds like a new adventure, but also sounds a bit scarey. How you feeling about the move and new people, classes, ect?

I always get nervous I have gone to school for a semester away from home and lived with a roommate there so its not a 1st time like it is for many kids. I love Vermont and I have family 10 minuets away from school. I am excited and of course nervous whenever I get into new situations though it always seems to turn out well. I am not shy at all and I know how to have a good time to so thats a bonus ha ha. Just hope I don't have to good of a time and lose focus. I am much more nervous about classes then the people or the place if I am on my academic game and have my focus I am a straight A student but if I fall behind for a second and can't catch up my grades plummet like you wouldn't believe. I am dyslexic and ADD but I don't have it bad enough that I think I need medication and I also don't get extra time or anything like that I have been diagnosed and had taken medication all through middle school and high school but if I can find a quiet place to study away from a lot of distraction I can make it through with out medication. Thanks for the well wishes I am sure I will be fine my main struggle has been taking classes I am not interested in and most of the classes I am in now are a whole new subject to me so that should keep me engaged.

Henry

Have a great time Henry! We'll miss you around here!

Today, I am going thru the 2 month old pullets. See what I am going to keep. It is too early to go thru the cockerels. They change so much. What I don't decide to keep, I am going to take them to the National to sell. It is like I told my husband last evening, I can't keep them all. Everybody goes into a heated building in the wintertime. Also might have some older ones for sale too. Henry have fun at school and i'll let you know when I'm going to ship the trio of blacks and the blue pullet.

The first year of college is full of all kinds of useless stuff.

Economics (big snooze), statistics, and electricity/magnetism were my least favorite classes.

The library is always a quiet place to study.

Well Henry you will do just fine in college! Just don't loose your focus on your career and your goals in the birds. Whichever direction you take, you will learn from your mistakes and move on. If the Lavs do not pan out the way you want them to go, leave the projects to others that are more delicated, have the time and money to get up the goals. And you can pick it up from there.

Besides college life and family life, you also have BYC friends in here that are crazy about you. Peter and Dick and Leisha are the ones you can look up for guidance on your birds...they are invaluable for the breed and only want the best for you. Dick has lead me in the right direction along with Rose Isgirgg and I never regretted it.
