texasgal, goody for you and good luck with your eggs. I am really happy with my pasofinofarms pullet. In fact, I am getting ready to put some of her eggs in the incubator this weekend.

That is one blond gal LOL! She is beautiful in type and elegant as well! Even she has the white/salmon leakages, maybe her offsprings can clear that up and carry her type and elegance. i love that beard of hers!

I don't think I have showed many people the pictures of my first Faverolles and one of my first chickens. I had a mixed flock of birds from Meyer hatchery and some culls like Maran's and Ameraucana that I would sell colorful eggs from. Thats why my Mom is so used to having lots of eating eggs. We also used to have 25 hens so maybe thats why she is used to it

10 bantams are much easier for my parents to take care of.

Well here is the bird that got me into having Faverolles in the first place she was beautiful and I got very lucky with a faverolles from a hatchery. I feel she is the best Faverolles hen I have ever seen come from a hatchery at least color wise.

Yep she is one pretty Faverolle, Henry!!!! Not too many hatcheries look like that and most of the time people were very disappointed because the chick grew up and it didnt look like THAT in the picture!

Yes I agree I was very lucky wish I hadn't lost her to a fox I would have started a new line of Faverolles with her by taking her to a breeder male.

I hate it when that happens. I had the same thing happen to the Favs I got from Pam at Little Creek Farm. Sickening. I was litterally ill over it. She was a beauty Henry.

Isn't someone working on those?

I think Jeanine at Cloverleaf is . . . or has plans to.

Hey, are you telling on me?? haa haa, just kidding, it's not "really" a secret...I ALMOST have all the birds I need. Leisha is sending me a salmon roo in a couple weeks, cuz both my roos are blue salmons. I will be putting the fav roo over d'uccle hens, and a d'uccle roo over 2 of my fav girls from Henry, one is salmon, one is blue salmon. These are all bantams, but someone in Southern Oregon was talking about doing LF mille fleur favs, but haven't heard from her in a while, so don't know if she's made any progress, or if she is even still considering the project.

Chickonthehill - pretty girl, she is just standing up as pretty as you please!!

Henry - your hen was beautiful. Dang foxes. I wish I could free range mine but my own dogs would take care of that!!

Annslee has her first showmanship competition at our district fair this weekend. I've been quizzing her hard and she's getting pretty good about answering questions or rattling off a "junior" version of the standard when asked "tell me about your chicken" so maybe shell do ok. Wish her luck!!... Oh and me too. About 600 birds at this show.
